- Le 9 mai 2023, arrestation pour corruption d’Imran Khan, chef du Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) et ancien Premier ministre.
- Le même jour, des membres de son parti vandalisent la résidence officielle à Lahore du général commandant le corps d’armée dont le PC se trouve dans cette ville. Des foules déchaînées détériorent l’entrée de l’état-major de l’armée de terre à Rawalpindi, en tentant d’y pénétrer. Diverses installations militaires sont attaquées dans plusieurs villes du pays, notamment à Mianwali, Sargodha et Faisalabad. Plusieurs dizaines de morts sont à déplorer.
- La Cour suprême est divisée, le président et son futur successeur s’opposant sur divers points, notamment la nomination de nouveaux juges. Mais globalement, elle s’est montrée favorable à Imran Khan, déclarant son arrestation illégale et exigeant sa libération. FACTS
- On May 9, 2023 arrest on corruption charges of Imran Khan, leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister.

- On the same day, members of his party vandalized the official residence in Lahore of the commanding general of the army corps whose headquarters are in that city. Rampaging mobs damage the entrance to the army headquarters in Rawalpindi, attempting to gain entry. Various military installations are attacked in several cities across the country, including Mianwali, Sargodha and Faisalabad. Dozens are killed.

- The Supreme Court is divided, with the President and his future successor at odds over various issues, including the appointment of new judges. On the whole, however, the Supreme Court came out in favor of Imran Khan, declaring his arrest illegal and demanding his release. In fact, Imran Khan was released two days after his arrest, on May 11.
